In the case of MLTGD, the redemption of principal at maturity shall, at the option of the depositor, be either in Indian Rupee equivalent of the value of deposited gold at the time of redemption, or in gold. Where the redemption of the deposit is in gold, an administrative charge at a rate of 0.2% of the notional redemption amount in terms of INR shall be collected from the depositor.
Prohibition against opening a branch office or a liaison office or a project office or any other place of business in India-No person resident outside India shall without prior approval of the Reserve Bank open in India a branch office or a liaison office or a project office or any other place of business by whatever name called except as laid down in these Regulations.
a) No Indian Insurance Company shall allow the aggregate holdings by way of total foreign investment in its equity shares by foreign investors, including portfolio investors, to exceed forty-nine percent of the paid up equity capital of such Indian Insurance company. b) The foreign investment up to forty-nine percent of the total paid-up equity of the Indian Insurance Company shall be allowed on the automatic route subject to approval/verification by the Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India.
The directions contained in this circular has been issued under section 10(4) and 11(2) of the Foreign Exchange Management Act, 1999 (42 of 1999) and are without prejudice to permissions / approvals, if any, required under any other law.
All other existing conditions, including the security-wise limits, investment of coupons being permitted outside the limits and investments being restricted to securities with a minimum residual maturity of three years, will continue to apply.

In view of developments since the issue of the above circulars, feedback received from the stakeholders and experience gained, it has been decided to amend certain provisions of these guidelines. The amendments to specific instructions of the above-mentioned circulars are given in the Annex.
It has now been decided to dispense with the abovementioned statements with immediate effect. AD banks may however, maintain the above database at their own end and make available the same as and when called upon by the Reserve Bank of India.
