PCE (Professional Competence Examination) candidates should note the changed sequence of papers (as given in the time table printed on reverse of Admit Card) for May, 2012 examinations and that the examination for Group-I will commence on 3 rd May,2012 and Group-II will commence on 08th May, 2012. Further all the IPCE UNIT candidates should check that their admit card is for the applicable Unit, otherwise they should inform the Institute in writing requesting for correction and should appear only in papers of respective Unit.

It is seen that some of the candidates who had applied online, for May 2012 exam had paid exam fee online more than once, on account of failure in electronic transmission, lost transaction (after payment), card related problems etc. Such online multiple payments received from the candidates have already been processed for the credit of the account from where the payment originated.

Each examiner is required to appoint a person as his checker to inter-alia perform the following functions besides assisting him in the preparation of Award List.
The Council, in partial modification of the decision taken by it at its 291st meeting held in December, 2009, decided that the effective date/applicability of the following Standards on Auditing – a) SA 700 (Revised), Forming an Opinion and Reporting on Financial Statements b) SA 705, Modifications to the Opinion in the Independent Auditor’s Report c) SA 706,Emphasis of Matter Paragraphs and Other Matter Paragraphs in the Independent Auditor’s Report be postponed by one year and consequently the said Standards shall now be effective/applicable for audits of financial statements for periods beginning on or after 1st April, 2012 (instead of audits of financial statements for periods beginning on or after 1st April, 2011 as was earlier decided and referred to above).
Invitation for empanelment as Resource Persons for the programmes to be organized by the Committee for Capacity Building of CA Firms and Small & Medium Practitioners (CCBCAF&SMP). The Committee for Capacity Building of CA Firms and Small & Medium Practitioners(CCBCAF&SMP) of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India proposes to organize the following programmes during the year 2012-2013 which are broadly relevant to the Members of ICAI in Practice.
Due to paucity of accommodation in some Zones opted by the candidates in the cities of Chennai, Delhi, Indore, Mumbai and Kolkatta, some of the candidates have been allotted examinations centres in other zones of the said cities where the accommodation is available.
First of all, what exactly does CPT mean? The full form of this abbreviation is “Common Proficiency Test”. If one wants to pursue a course in chartered accountancy, he or she has to clear this entrance test. Before being able to give this examination, one has to register with the ‘Institute of Chartered Accountants of India’ (ICAI) which is the main statutory body.
In continuation of earlier announcement dated January 5, 2012, it is hereby informed that due to the closure of Banks on account of yearly closing and subsequent public holidays on 5th April, 2012 (Mahavir Jayanti) and 6th April, 2012 (Good Friday), the last date for registration for Common Proficiency Course (CPC) shall be 9th April, 2012 for being eligible to appear in the Common Proficiency Test (CPT) to be held in June, 2012.
With the new reporting format, the taxonomy also needed to undergo a change. Accordingly, the new taxonomy, based on the Revised Schedule VI requirements, for the Commercial & Industrial (C&I) companies has been developed by ICAI. The new taxonomy is a general purpose taxonomy capable of being used for filing annual financial statements for any Commercial & Industrial companies.
