In view of the closure of banks on account of half yearly closing on 29th September, 2012 followed by Sunday i.e. 30th September, 2012, the last date for registration for Common Proficiency Course (CPC) shall be 5th October, 2012 for being eligible to appear in the Common Proficiency Test (CPT) to be held in December, 2012.
The Ministry of Corporate Affairs (MCA) has notified the Schedule VI (Revised) which is applicable in respect of Balance Sheet and Profit and Loss Account prepared for the financial year commencing on or after 1.4.2011. The Revised Schedule VI had changed the nomenclature of certain items, modified the present classification of accounts, removed / added certain disclosure requirements etc which in turn has impacted the financial reporting requirement for the Companies.

A news item appeared in the Media yesterday and today which states that CBI Team has arrested Income Tax department officials and a Chartered Accountant Anil Jaiswal at Kanpur. In this regard, the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) wishes to clarify that as per the ICAI records, the above said person ‘Anil Jaiswal ‘ is not a Chartered Accountant. ICAI has no connection whatsoever with the above mentioned person.

In terms of the Council decision dated 14 July, 2011, following guidelines for conversion of CA firms into LLPs and constitution of separate LLPs by the practicing Chartered Accountants have been finalized which are applicable for conversion of CA firms into LLPs or formation of new LLPs by the members in practice of the Institute subject to the provisions of the Limited Liability Partnership (LLP) Act, 2008 and Rules & Regulations framed there under:-

Given this, it is imperative that the quality of the work that we do as auditors is such that it upholds the trust reposed in our Profession and justifies the respect that it commands.
The Committee on Public Finance & Government Accounting, a non-standing committee of Institute of Chartered Accountants of India, has been constituted in the year of 2008 with the objective to review, analyze, recommend and suggest measures to the Local, State & Central Government, PSUs and other organisations in policy assessment, planning and execution in public finance, reforms in Government accounting system and maximizing public fund’s utility to augment and vitalize economic growth for end beneficiaries.
Economists across the globe have extended countless explanations for the recurring trend of economic meltdown, now a part of business cycle. Uneven sharing of profit, i.e. less return of profit money to lower and middle level workers, has also been cited as one of the reasons. Generally it is seen that industries give back less money and, thereby, share very less profit with their workers in terms of their remunerations than the goods manufactured by them, i.e. price at which goods are sold at. Industries share this profit mainly with the top rung of their workers, i.e. management or policy-/strategy-makers, apart from putting it for fundamental investments.
As per CPE learning which is eligible for CPE credit for Unstructured Learning Activities(ULAs), the members are required to submit their Self-declaration in the form enclosed once in a year before 31st May, to avail the CPE Hours Credit for the ULAs undergone by them in the previous year. These forms would have to be submitted to the concerned Decentralized Offices. The members could also submit the same to the Sub-Decentralized Offices for onward submission to the concerned Decentralized Offices.
