n exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (3) of section 1 of the Competition Act, 2002 (12 of 2003), the Central Government hereby appoints the 1st day of June, 2011 as the date on which section 44 of the said Act (inserted by section 37 of the Competition (Amendment) Act, 2007 (39 of 2007) shall come into force.
In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (3) of section 1 of the Competiotion Act, 2002 (12 of 2003), the Central Government hereby appoints the 1st day of June, 2011 as the date on which section 43A of the said Act (inserted by section 37 of the Competition (Amendment) Act, 2007 (39 of 2007) shall come into force.

Categories of transactions not likely to have appreciable adverse effect on competition in India. In view of the duty cast upon the Commission under section 18 and powers conferred under section 36 of the Act, and having regard to the mandate given to the Commission to, inter alia, regulate combinations which have caused or are likely to cause appreciable adverse effect on competition in terms of sub-section (1) of section 6 of the Act, it is clarified that since the categories of combinations mentioned in Schedule I are ordinarily not likely to cause an appreciable adverse effect on competition in India, notice under sub-section (2) of section 6 of the Act need not normally be filed.
4th March, 2011. S.O. 482(E) – In exercise of the powers conferred by clause (a) of section 54 of the Competition Act, 2002 (12 of 2003), the Central Government, in public interest, hereby exempts an enterprise, whose control, shares, voting rights or assets are being acquired has assets of the value of not more than Rs. 250/- crores or turnover of not more than Rs. 750/- crores from the provisions of section 5 of the said Act for a period of five years.
4th March, 2011. S.O. 481 (E) – In exercise of the powers conferred by clause (a) of section 54 of the Competition Act, 2002 (12 of 2003), the Central Government, in public interest, hereby exempts the ‘Group’ exercising less than fifty per cent of voting rights in other enterprise from the provisions of section 5 of the said Act for a period of five years.
4th March, 2011-S.O. 480(E).- In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (3) of section 20, of the Competition Act, 2002 (12 of 2003), the Central Government, in consultation with the Competition Commission of India, hereby enhance, on the basis of the wholesale price index, the value of assets and the value of turnover, by fifty per cent for the purposes of section 5 of the said Act.
4th March, 2011- S.O. 479(E) .- In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (3) of section 1 of the Competition Act, 2002 (12 of 2003), the Central Government hereby appoints the 1st day of June, 2011 as the date on which sections 5, 6,20,29, 30 and section 31 of the said Act shall come into force.
NOTIFICATION NO. R-40007/REG-RECOVERY/NOTI/04-CCI, DATED 8-2-2011- These regulations may be called the Competition Commission of India (Manner of Recovery of Monetary Penalty) Regulations, 2011. (2) They shall come into force on the date of their publication in the Official Gazette.
