Subject: Publicity Campaign for Income Declaration Scheme-2016- Coordination with FICCI and their associate Chambers of Commerce-reg.
As you all are kindly aware the Income Declaration Scheme-2016 has been launched w.e.f. June, 2016. This scheme provides offers a unique opportunity to persons who are willing to declare any undisclosed income under the scheme with its attended benefits. The Department has embarked upon a comprehensive publicity plan for creating awareness about this scheme amongst the citizen all over the country.
One of the main ingredients of this campaign is holding workshops and town-hall meetings in association with Industry representatives and Chambers of Commerce in all important locations. In this connection, the Secretary General of Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry has written a letter to Chairman. CBDT (copy enclosed) proposing to hold workshops in partnership with their member associations in 40 locations all over the country. A list of these locations is also enclosed with this letter.
The Secretary General of FICCI has made a request to provide the name and contact details of resource persons from our Department who could be requested by FICCI to join the workshops conducted by the respective Chambers of Commerce for answering questions and queries to dispel any doubts in the minds of the participants of such workshops.
This is to request that names and contact details of resource persons being senior officers of the Department who will be available to address the workshops organized by FICCI and their associate Chambers of Commerce in locations falling within your respective regions may be sent urgently and not later than 27111 June. 2016 to the Board so that FICCI can be intimated accordingly and the awareness campaign can be kick started in these 40 locations as soon as possible. FICCI has also requested for providing the technical literature / pamphlets etc. on the subject for circulation during the workshops which will be arranged separately and handed over to FICCI as per their convenience.
