This article explains about e-TDS/TCS Return Preparation Utility Ver. 3.0 for Regular & Correction quarterly e-TDS/TCS statements from FY 2007-08, File Validation Utility (FVU) version 6.5 for quarterly e-TDS/TCS statement pertaining to FY 2010-11 onwards and File Validation Utility (FVU) version 2.161 for quarterly e-TDS/TCS statement up to FY 2009-10 which are applicable from December 27, 2019.

A. e-TDS/TCS Return Preparation Utility Ver. 3.0 for Regular & Correction quarterly e-TDS/TCS statements from FY 2007-08

Key Features — Return Preparation Utility (RPU) version 3.0

a. Addition of new section code 194N (i.e. “Payment of certain amounts in cash”) for Form 27Q

  • Same will be applicable for regular and correction statements pertains to FY 2019-20 onwards
  • Value under field “Date on which Amount paid/Credited” of deductee records should not be less than September 1, 2019

b. Changes in validation for section code 194N for Form 26Q

  • Value under field “Date on which Amount paid/Credited” of deductee records should not be less than September 1, 2019

c. Incorporation of latest File Validation Utility (FVU) version 6.5 (applicable for TDS/TCS statements pertaining to FY 2010-11 onwards) and FVU version 2.161 (applicable for TDS/TCS statements from FY 2007-08 up to FY 2009-10).

d. This version of RPU is applicable with effect from December 27, 2019
