Notification No. 02/2020 – Central Excise regarding exemption of duties of Central Excise against scrips issued under the 2% Additional ad hoc incentive for mobile phones

Notification No. 02/2020–Central Excise
New Delhi, the 14th February, 2020.
G.S.R. 118(E).– In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 5A of the Central Excise Act, 1944 (1 of 1944), the Central Government, on being satisfied that it is necessary in the public interest so to do, hereby makes the following further amendments in the notification of the Government of India, Ministry of Finance (Department of Revenue), No. 20/2015- Central Excise, dated the 8th April, 2015, published in the Gazette of India, Extraordinary, Part II, Section 3, Subsection (i), vide number G.S.R. 271 (E), dated the 8th April, 2015, namely:-
In the said notification, in the opening paragraph, the following proviso shall be inserted, namely:-
“Provided that the said scrip, against which goods when cleared are exempted from the whole of duty of excise leviable thereon under the Fourth Schedule to the said Central Excise Act, may include duty credit provided under the 2% Additional Ad Hoc Incentive in terms of paragraph 3.25 of the Foreign Trade Policy.”.
