Subject: Appeals/SLPs against CEGAT orders-information on CBEC website
In keeping with the global thrust for making optimum use of available IT resources expediting communication of important decisions/news relating to Court matters and minimizing the use of papers as a means of communication, a page for judicial Cell has been put on the CBEC Website Newtwork “finm.in.nic.in”. For the present it will contain information about the Civil Appeals/SLPs filed in Supreme Court as well as those which have been admitted. This is only a small step forward and to begin with, we have started with the details of the Cegat Orders appealed against during the month of December, 1999 as well as the cases/civil appeals admitted recently by the Apex Court. It is proposed to update this information and even go backwards with further details available on Website effective from 01.01.1999. Gist of important decisions taken by Supreme Court will also be soon put on this page for Judicial Cell with the above change it has now been decided to put an end to the monthly circulations of the aforesaid list which were being prepared manually and sent by post.
2. Very soon we are likely to have E-Mail addresses of the Judicial Cell, the under Secretary (JC) and the Director (JC) so that urgent correspondence with the field formations can take place through E-mail. We would be intimating you as soon as we get the connecion.
