Public Notice No. 74 (RE-2001)/1997-2002, issued by the Ministry of Commerce & Industry on 28th March 2002, updates the Chemicals and Allied Products list under the Export and Import (EXIM) Policy 1997-2002. It refers to Paragraph 4.11 of the EXIM Policy and Paragraphs 7.8 and 7.10 of the Handbook of Procedures, Volumes 1 and 2, as amended. The notice introduces new entries, specifically A-2835 to A-2975, detailed in Annexure B. For instance, it includes “Disc Springs made of Cold Rolled (annealed/un-annealed) Non-Alloy/Alloy Steel” under entry C1767. The required inputs for manufacturing these springs are 1.5 kg of relevant grade cold-rolled steel strips or wide coils per 1 kg of output. This update aims to streamline the classification and facilitate trade operations in the chemical and allied sectors, aligning with the procedures and regulations outlined in the EXIM Policy.

Attention is invited to Paragraph 4.11 of the Export and Import Policy 1997-2002, as amended and Paragraphs 7.8 and 7.10 of the Handbook of Procedures, Vol.1, 1997-2002, as amended and also to the Handbook of Procedures, Vol.2, 1997-2002, as amended from time to time.
2. In exercise of the powers conferred under Paragraph 4.11 of the Export and Import Policy 1997-2002, as amended, the Director General of Foreign Trade hereby makes the following amendments/modifications and additions in the Handbook of Procedures, Vol.2, 1997-2002, as amended.
3. In the statement of Standard Input Output Norms as contained in the Handbook of Procedures, Vol.2, 1997-2002, as amended, amendments/ corrections/ deletion at appropriate places as mentioned in Annexure “A” to this Public Notice shall be made.
4. In the statement of Standard Input Output Norms, following additions shall be made at appropriate places as mentioned below:-

After the existing entry at Sr.No.A-2834, the new entries at Sr.No.A-2835 to A-2975 shall be added as per Annexure ”B” to this Public Notice.
ENGINEERING PRODUCTS
