MOU between ICWAI and CBEC entered into on 13th April 2010 to facilitate Cost Accountants to set up Certified Facilitation Centres (CFC) under the Automation of Central Excise and Services Tax (ACES) Scheme of CBEC has been extended with effect from 1st April 2011 for a period of two years and shall remain valid till 31st March 2013 unless the Scheme is withdrawn by CBEC.
Chartered accountants, cost accountants and company secretaries can now directly upload certified annual documents of firms on MCA”s portal, without prior approval of the ministry, while holding them responsible for such submissions. The move is seen as a major initiative towards expeditious e-filing.
Important Announcement for students- Sub : Cost Accounting Standards- It may be noted that Cost Accounting Standards (CAS ) 1 – 12 will be applicable for the students appearing in June 2011 term of Examination.
April 4, 2011- NOTIFICATION- In pursuance of Regulation 146 of the Cost and Works Accountants Regulations, 1959, the Council of ICWAI at its 267th meeting held on 25thFebruary, 2011 by virtue of power conferred therein has constituted the following Chapter of Cost Accountants: Pimpri–Chinchwad–Akurdi Chapter of Cost Accountants
Students intending to pursue ICWAI Courses, having their domicile outside India, for the purpose of employment or otherwise, shall be charged fees as per Annexure I. Henceforth, fees received from Foreign students, in INR (Indian Rupees), shall not be considered valid. This shall be made effective from the date of issuance of this circular.
In one of the International economic forum held recently at Singapore, it was opined by some experts that Indian Economy may still be trailing China’s now but it can catch up if the country opens up its financial sector more.
