In exercise of the powers conferred under Paragraphs 2.1, 2.4 and 2.29 of the Foreign Trade Policy, 2009-14, the Director General of Foreign Trade hereby allocates a total quantity of 5,175 MTs of Raw Sugar(98 degree Pol), out of non-levy(free sale) quota for export under tariff rate quota(TRQ) to USA for the US fiscal year 2011 (October 1, 2010 to September 30, 2011) to be delivered before 31st October, 2011. This export will be through M/s. Indian Sugar Exim Corporation Ltd, New Delhi.
In exercise of powers conferred by Section 5 of the Foreign Trade (Development & Regulation) Act, 1992 (No. 22 of 1992) read with Para 2.1 of the Foreign Trade Policy, 2009-2014, the Central Government amends Notification No. 73(RE-2010)/2009-14 dated 09.09.2011 with immediate effect as follows.
The Government has decided to lift the ban on the export of onions. Onions can now be exported subject to a Minimum Export Price (MEP) of US$ 475 per tonne. This is exactly the position that was prevailing on 8th September 2011, immediately before the ban on the export of onions was imposed on 9th September 2011.
DGFT Trade Notice No. 20, Attention is invited to Public Notice Nos. 67/2009-2014 (RE 2010) and 68/2009-2014 (RE 2010) restoring the DEPB benefit on export of “Cotton yarn including Melange yarn” and “Cotton”. During the period from 21.4.2010 to 04.08.2011, DEPB was not available on export of “Cotton yarn including Melange yarn” and on export of “Cotton” from 21.04.2010 to 04.08.2011.
Notification No. 74 (RE-2010)/2009-14, – Export of cotton [ITC(HS) Codes 5201 & 5203] will continue to be free subject to registration of contracts with DGFT. Performance guarantee (as was given in Notification No. 63 of 04.08.2011) will no longer be required.
The export of all varieties of onions is prohibited with immediate effect till further orders. But, transitional arrangements under para 1.5 of Foreign Trade Policy shall be allowed.
The term durum wheat means wheat of the Triticum durum species and the Hybrids derived from the inter – specific crossing of Triticum durum which have the same number (28) of chromosomes as that species. Export of wheat has been made free. Exports shall be only through Custom EDI ports.
In supersession of Notification No. 38 (RE-2007)/2004-2009 dated 15.10.2007 read with Notification No. 93 (RE-2007)/2004-2009 dated 01.04.2008, the following amendments are made with immediate effect against entry at Sl. No.45 A (except Tariff Code 1006 10 10) in Chapter 10 of Schedule 2 of ITC(HS.
Policy Circular No. 40 (RE-2010)/2009-14, As and when Customs (CBEC) have conveyed their readiness to implement on-line message exchange between Customs and DGFT, Policy Circulars have been issued from time to time by DGFT indicating the names and Port Codes of such Customs Ports where EDI facility would be available.
Minimum Export Price (MEP) of all varieties of onions including Bangalore Rose Onions and Krishnapuram Onions will be US$ 475 per Metric Ton F.O.B. It was US$ 300 per Metric Ton for general category onion as notified on 24.08.2011 and US$ 400 per MT F.O.B. for Bangalore Rose Onions and Krishnapuram onions as notified on 12.08.2011.
