Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) has issued a corrigendum dated December 13, 2024, to Public Notice No. 30/2024-2025 (dated November 1, 2024). This corrigendum pertains to an amendment in paragraph 4.59 of the Handbook of Procedures 2023 and modifications in Standard Input Output Norms (SION) M-1 to M-8 related to jewellery exports. It corrects a typographical error in Note 2 of the earlier notice. The revised text clarifies that “The export of mechanized plain and studded jewellery also includes some manual process,” replacing the previously stated “The export or mechanized plain and studded jewellery.”

This correction ensures alignment with the intended guidelines for jewellery export under the Foreign Trade Policy, 2023, and resolves any ambiguity from the prior notice. The corrigendum further reiterates that the weight of imported gold or silver mountings and findings used in export products will not be considered in determining the net gold or silver content. The amendment highlights the continued importance of precision in regulatory language, providing exporters with clear and accurate compliance instructions.

This update is issued by DGFT under the authority of Paragraphs 1.03 and 2.04 of the Foreign Trade Policy. It impacts stakeholders in the jewellery export industry, ensuring clarity in operational and procedural norms.
