Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC), under the Ministry of Finance, has issued Notification No. 10/2025-Customs (N.T.), revising tariff values for key imported commodities under Section 14(2) of the Customs Act, 1962. This amendment, effective February 15, 2025, modifies the earlier Notification No. 36/2001-Customs (N.T.). The updated tariff values cover crude palm oil ($1,111/MT), RBD palm oil ($1,147/MT), crude palmolein ($1,155/MT), RBD palmolein ($1,158/MT), crude soybean oil ($1,082/MT), and brass scrap ($5,244/MT). In addition, gold bars and coins now have a tariff value of $938 per 10 grams, while silver, including medallions and semi-manufactured forms, is set at $1,043 per kilogram. The notification also fixes the tariff value for areca nuts at $8,140/MT.

These tariff revisions are intended to ensure the correct assessment of customs duties based on prevailing international market prices. The notification maintains consistency with previous amendments, including Notification No. 06/2025-Customs (N.T.), issued on January 31, 2025. Importers and stakeholders are advised to review these changes for compliance with updated valuation norms.
