Every person exporting any one or more of the Scheduled products must apply to Authority to be registered as an exporter of the Scheduled product before the expiration of one month from the date on which he undertakes such export or before the expiration of three months from the date of coming into force of this section, whichever is later, under section 12 sub section (1) of the Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority Act 1985 (as amended). The provision further states that the Authority may, for good reason, extend the registration deadline for as long as it sees proper.
Exporters are awarded the Registration-Cum-Membership Certificate (RCMC) provided they fulfil the processes laid down in this respect. RCMC was previously supplied by hand. However, starting of 01.08.2015, the issue of RCMC has been done on line utilising digital signatures, with the goal of simplifying procedures and making conducting business easier. Exporters must now submit their documentation online under the new system. APEDA’s website, www.apeda.gov.in, has further information under the Corporate Info-Registration Procedures button.
However, it has been noted that some exporters continue to submit their applications offline, causing delays in processing because paper copies of the application forms, as well as supporting documents, are not accepted and are returned. As a result, all parties involved are reminded to submit their applications, along with all required documentation, online exclusively.
Following documents are required with application form:
For Merchant exporter :-
i. Self-certified copy of Import-Export code issued by D.G.F.T.
For Manufacturer exporter:-
i. Self-certified copy of Import-Export code issued by D.G.F.T.
ii. Exporter should furnish a self- attested copy of the registration of the company with the relevant certification agencies for the products given below :-
