1. (1) These rules may be called the Debts Recovery Tribunal (Procedure) Amendment Rules, 2016. (2) They shall come into force on the date of their publication in the Official Gazette. 2. A credit score is the summary of your report, numerically represented. This is a three digit number ranging between 300 & 900. The higher this score the better it is. On a general note, any score above 750 is considered a good score and borrowers having this score or more are favoured by lenders. Through this score banks judge your probability of default in future. A lower score would mean a high probability of default while a higher score means lower probability.

They generally provide interest for the whole period of investment or interest break up for the different years which does not coincide with financial year (or previous year) applicable for the purpose of Income Tax return filing.

Pre-printed certificates for KVP & NSC discontinued wef 01.04.2016

It was decided that the currently existing system of physical pre-printed certificates for KVP and NSC shall stand discontinued w.e.f. 1.4.2016 and shall be replaced by ‘National Savings Certificate/Kisan Vikas Patra Certificate on electronic – mode (e-mode) . Till the CBS system transits to that e-mode, banks and post offices may choose to issue a physical certificate recorded on a passbook.

Where a certificate has been purchased on or after the 1st day of April, 2016 the maturity period of a certificate of any denomination, shall be five years, commencing from the date of issue of the certificate. The amount inclusive of interest, payable on encashment of the certificate at any time after the expiry of its maturity period shall be Rs. 147.6 1for denomination of Rs. 100 and at proportionate rate for any other denomination.
