Anil Kumar Goel & Ors. Vs Union of India (Delhi High Court)

1. As the taxpayers and professionals, along with whole country, continues to suffer and to reel under the COVID-19 pandemic, this Writ Petition prayed for directions to Respondents [UOI, CBIC, CBDT, Delhi Govt, GST Council] for extension of all the due dates of compliances specified under IT Act, GST Act, and VAT as well as waiver of penalty, interest, and any other charges for delay in such compliances due to COVID 19.

2. Hon’ble Delhi high Court, vide order dated 06.05.2021, issued ad-interim direction, which is, that if any coercive action is intended to be taken against any assessee (not confined to the petitioners therein), at least, 3 weeks prior notice will be given to enable the assessee, to approach the Court, or an appropriate  statutory  authority,  for  seeking  requisite  relief.

3. Next Date Of Hearing is scheduled on 13.05.2021.
