In exercise of the powers conferred under Para 2.1, 2.4 and 2.29 of the Foreign Trade Policy, 2004-2009, the Director General of Foreign Trade hereby makes the following amendment in Public Notice No.5 dated 17.5.2007.
Application received within the stipulated period would be considered by the Export Facilitation Committee on merit for issue of Export Licences for export of said items and shall be subject to any other condition, so imposed.
In exercise of powers conferred under Paragraph 2.4 of the Foreign Trade Policy 2004-2009, the Director General of Foreign Trade hereby makes the following amendments in Handbook of Procedures.
The existing procedure in respect of preferential sugar export to USA for issue of GSP certificate as well as other certification requirement, if any, prescribed specifically for export of sugar to USA shall continue to be followed. EUR form is to be endorsed by Customs at the port of shipment and the GSP Certificate by Export Inspection Agency / Directorate General of Foreign Trade.
The total quantum of import of vanaspati including bakery shortening and margarine under Indo-Sri Lanka Free Trade Agreement shall be restricted to 3,12,500 MT for the year 2007-08 in four equal quarterly installments to be spread on monthly basis.
In case of applicants for importer exporter Code Number who are ordinarily residents of Sikkim, trade tax/sales tax registration number issued by the State Government of Sikkim may also be accepted as a substitute to Permanent Account Number (PAN) issued by Income Tax authorities.
In exercise of the powers conferred under Paragraph 2.4 of the Foreign Trade Policy, 2004-09 and Paragraph 1.1 of the Handbook of Procedures (Vol.1), the Director General of Foreign Trade hereby makes the following amendments/ additions/deletions/corrections in the Handbook of Procedures, Vol.2, 2004-2009, as amended from time to time.
In exercise of powers conferred under Paragraph 2.4 of the Foreign Trade Policy, 2004-09, the Director General of Foreign Trade hereby notifies annual supplement of the Handbook of Procedures (Volume I) incorporating Annual Supplement as updated on 19th April 2007 as contained in annexure to this Public Notice and the Appendices to the Handbook of Procedures (Vol.I) as available on the website of Directorate General of Foreign Trade at http:// dgft.gov.in. This shall come into force from 1st April, 2007.
The new system of import from registered sources will come into effect from 1st October, 2007. However, in cases where Bill of Lading is dated 30th September, 2007 or before, imports will be allowed on the basis of Pre-Shipment Inspection regime in terms of Para 2.32 of the Handbook of Procedures (Vol.1), notified vide Public Notice No. 1 dated 8th April, 2005 and as amended from time to time, till the new system of import from registered sources comes into effect.
