In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-clause (i) of clause (a) of sub-section (3) of section 14 of Customs Act, 1962 (52 of 1962) and in supersession of the notification of the Government of India in the Ministry of Finance (Department of Revenue) No.72/2006-NT-Customs, dated the 27th June, 2006.

Where the export product is not specifically covered by the description of goods in the said Schedule, the rate of drawback may be fixed, on an application by an individual manufacturer or exporter in accordance with the Customs, Central Excise Duties and Service Tax Drawback Rules, 1995.

In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) and sub-section (2) of section 4A of the Central Excise Act, 1944 (1 of 1944), the Central Government, on being satisfied that it is necessary in the public interest so to do, hereby makes the following further amendments in the notification of the Government of India in the Ministry of Finance.

These rules may be called the Rules of Determination of Origin of Goods under the Agreement on South Asian Free Trade Area (SAFTA), hereinafter referred to as the “Agreement”, between the Governments of SAARC (South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation) Member States comprising the People’s Republic of Bangladesh, the Kingdom of Bhutan, the Republic of India.
