As we all know that, whenever we visit TRACES website for any of TDS return related work at that time, we always face this issue that every time for any single process eg justification report or conso file, etc we always need to feel KYC and gone through that lengthy process. Hence now department has come up with the solution to this problem i.e Digital signature supported KYC which is one time KYC. – User can submit KYC only once and that KYC may be from any of the statement (which is processed at CPC-TD), opted by the user itself and can use following functionalities without any separate KYC within the same session :
- Access all downloads
- update profile
- submit online correction
Pre-requisite:
- Digital Signature of user should be register on TRACES to use the functionality.
- Either DSC should be installed in the browser or e-Mudhra dongle/hard token USB protection device should be plugged in
Steps for Digital signature supported KYC:
1. Login to TRACES
2. From the Main menu User can select any of functionality wherever KYC is required.
3. Select the option “Digital Signature supported KYC validation’
4. Enter ‘Financial Year’, Form Type’ and ‘Quarter’ for which KYC will be provided by user
5. Click on ‘ Validate DSC’
6. Enter ‘Password’ which was set at the time of installing the certificate and click on ‘OK’.
Note: Note: ‘Signing data with your private exchange key’ will not be displayed if security level has been chosen as medium / low during installing DSC in browser / hard token and ‘applet window’( as shown in the next screen) will appear directly.
7. Select the certificate for digital signature
8. Click on ‘Sign’ to proceed further
9. After that, one time KYC page will be displayed for the FY + Qtr + Form Type combination which has been selected by the user.
10. Fill the relevant details and click on Proceed
11. Success page of KYC details have been validated will be appeared
12. After clearing the first DSC validated KYC user can submit any download request submission / submitting online / offline correction request in same session

I am also getting the same error and raised a ticket with tdscpc and a step wise resolution received but unfortunately problem persist.

So what use is it? Everytime I try to do the kyc validation, it shows me an error “digital certificate credentials are invalid due to pan mismatch” No idea what it means. And there is no where in the website to understand this.
And how else do you get the data for 2007-08 to download justification report?
CPC web requires to be made user friendly no doubt about it especially KYC questions relating to providing of 3 number PAN and amount deducted corresponding PAN which is most cumbersome and sometime user do not have the choice to key KYC answers and user has the compulsion to provide the answers asked by TRACES
Traces have just got a habit of taking high and doing nothing. Even with registration of DSC, corrections are not possible if a NIL value challan happens to be in place due to payee having NIL TDS certificate of having furnished a certificate u/s 197A.
Hence taking big can’t make Traces a user friendly site. Further when one has logged into the system by using his proper credentials why challan KYC is required every time for a service requested is not understood by people like me. See the waste of time and the man hours the nations sends as a whole for a unproductive work. And yet there’s no guarantee the results as desired would get produced. There are instances when a challan which is well accepted by the system gives a result “challan details do not match”.
Do thety have respect for others time or are working merely for their ego.
All these kya faida, if a deductor can not get refund for tds excess remitted by mistake.
