Sub: Extension of Demand Management Fortnight – regarding.
Kind reference is invited to the letter no. DIT(S)/DMFortnight/2012-13 dated 3rd September, 2012 by Member (Revenue) to all CCsIT/DGsIT for organizing a Demand Management Fortnight from 3rd September to 14th September, 2012 to settle Arrear Demand Grievance pertaining to uploading and rectification of Demand on the CPC portal.
2. In this regard, all CCsIT were requested to nominate a Nodal Officer of the rank of JCIT or above as single point of contact for taxpayers, with due publicity of details of nodal officers with condition that taxpayers should not be asked to approach the AOs directly. The Nodal Officer would be over all responsible for the Demand Management as per the SOP-Demand Management Fortnight. Further, it was decided that all Arrear Demand grievances to be resolved within 30 days by the Nodal Officer.
3. The Board has desired that the steps initiated by the Field Formations should continue in order to accurately reflect the Demand position in all cases. Necessary administrative due diligence should be so exercised by CCsIT/DGsIT to ensure that the “Demand Management” initiative is a success.
4. With this end in view, the Demand Management fortnight is extended by 15 days viz.
24.09.2012 to 05.10.2012.

The time should be extended upto 31.12.2012 to reconcile all the old demands , recovery etc, being all ca are busy in finalsing audit report etc
