The UDIN Directorate of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India has announced a one-time relaxation for generating missed Unique Document Identification Numbers (UDINs). This relief applies to documents and reports signed between 22nd October 2025 and 22nd November 2025, during which members faced difficulties due to the transition to a new UDIN portal. Chartered Accountants are now allowed to generate UDINs for such documents within a special window from 1st April 2026 to 30th April 2026. This measure aims to regularize compliance gaps arising from technical or transitional challenges. However, for documents outside this specified period, the standard rule requiring UDIN generation within 60 days from the date of signing will continue to apply. The relaxation is temporary and limited in scope, ensuring that compliance is maintained while providing relief to affected members.
