A 28-year-old chartered accountant, who had come to Ryan International School in Beta-I sector for auditing, was found dead inside the school on Thursday. Ajay Sharma, originally from Koderma in Jharkhand, allegedly scaled a four-feet high wall around 7.15pm on Thursday evening to reach the swimming pool where he was found drowned.
As members may be aware that recently, the ICAI has made an announcement regarding certain procedure to be followed while signing audit reports. This announcement affects all audit reports that would be signed by a Chartered Accountants on or after 1st April, 2010. Since the matter is very important and affects any auditor, we would like to draw your attention to the same.
The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) has recommended strict penal action, including imprisonment, for auditors who are found associated with serious accounting frauds. It also wants the Ministry of Corporate Affairs to frame a code of conduct for financial analysts and investment bankers for better scrutiny of firms that may indulge in such illegal affairs.

It is hereby informed that Paper -4 – Cost Accounting & Financial Management of Group-II of Professional Competence Examination and Paper-3 – Cost Accounting & Financial Management of Group-I of Integrated Professional Competence Examination held on 10th May-2010 in respect of candidates who had opted for Hindi medium stand cancelled due to an inadvertent typographical error in the question paper. The said examinations will now be held again on 22nd May-2010 from 2.00 PM to 5.00 PM . The venues of the examinations will remain unchanged. Admit Cards already issued would remain valid.

In order to provide prompt services to the expanding base of members and students, the ICAI is launching its e-Sahaayataa service on June 1, 2010. The e-Sahaayataa shall act as the only e-channel for the entire base of members and students of the Institute and other stakeholders of the profession at large wherein all their queries/complaints/grievances pertaining to the day to day working shall be catered to and be resolved by ICAI within 3 – 7days from the date of entering such query/complaint/grievance.
