Seeks to amend notification no. 27/2011-Customs dated 1st March, 2011 in order to amend the export duty on specified items of raw hides, skins and leather.
Government of India has issued Notification No. 37/2024-Customs on 3rd July 2024, amending Notification No. 27/2011-Customs to revise export duties on specific items related to raw hides, skins, and leather. Effective from 24th July 2024, the notification introduces new duty rates, including 40% for raw hides and skins (excluding buffalo), 30% for buffalo hides, and 20% for tanned hides and skins of various animals. It also removes outdated duty entries, streamlining the export duty structure for these commodities.

G.S.R. (E).- In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 25 of the Customs Act, 1962 (52 of 1962) the Central Government, on being satisfied that it is necessary in the public interest so to do, hereby makes the following further amendments in the notification of the Government of India in the Ministry of Finance (Department of Revenue), No. 27/2011- Customs dated the 1st March, 2011, published in the Gazette of India, Extraordinary, Part II, Section 3, Sub-section (i), vide number G.S.R. 153(E), dated the 1st March, 2011, namely :-
In the said notification, in the Table,
(i) after S. No. 25 and the entries relating thereto, the following S. Nos. and the entries shall be inserted, namely: –

(ii) S. Nos. 26, 27, 28, 29, 30, 31, 32, 33, 34, 35, 36, 37, 38, 38A, 38B, 39 and the entries relating thereto shall be omitted.
2. This notification shall come into effect on the 24th day of July, 2024.
