Digvijaya Singh, Member of Parliament, (Rajya Sabha) has written a letter to Smt. Nirmala Sitharaman, Hon’ble Minister, Ministry of Finance and Corporate Affairs Govt. of India New Delhi and requested for Extension of various due dates under Companies Act 2013, Companies Fresh Start Scheme (CFSS-2020), LLP Settlement Scheme 2020 till 31st March, 2021. Subject: Extension of various due dates under Companies Act 2013, Companies Fresh Start Scheme (CFSS-2020), LLP Settlement Scheme 2020 till 31st March, 2021.
Dear Madam,
As per the information available on the Ministry of Corporate Affairs’ portal regarding no further extension of CFSS & LL P Settlement scheme. It is shocking that the Ministry of Corporate Affairs has not looked into the merits and practical difficulties involved in the matter and univocally accorded no further extension to the CFSS & LLP Settlement scheme. I need not to share and make you understand the impact of the draconian situation due to COVID. The entire Corporates; Especially Small & Medium Enterprises sector is bearing the crunch posed by COVID situation. The Government is fully aware of the current situations. The Pandemic resulted in lockdown of offices across the Nation even today and the unlock guidelines with restrictions started coming in May 2020. Please appreciate that till September 2020, there were restrictions in many States and cities due to rising COVID nos., and even as on date there are restrictions imposed in certain cities and zones. Please also see the data given by Government of India on various portals which have shown that there were more cases in October and November which required Government to issue restrictions even in festival season.
As the unlock guidelines were introduced and the Corporates & professionals were allowed to open the offices but with restrictions on the number of staff members and were allowed to work on fifty percent strength, the flow of work did not pick up as it should have been. Instead, in spite of following the guidelines, many of corporates & professionals have fallen ill and suffered from this virus.
I therefore request you to consider this proposal and take immediate necessary action of imparting relief to all stakeholders.
