1. The exemption to wheat, rice, pulses and their flours, turmeric, chillies, tamrind, gur, coconut, cumin seeds, coriander seeds, fenugreek and parsely (Suva), papad, wet dates, solapuri chadders and towels which was to expire on 31.03.2012 will be continued till 31.03.2013. 2. The exemption of fabrics except furnishing cloth mentioned in Schedule ‘A’ (list of tax-free goods) to continue. However, furnishing cloth will be taxed @5% on last point.
1. The tax rate shall be uniform – ONE per cent on value of goods. 2. No collection of any tax at any checkpost. 3. No question of vehicles being detained anywhere within the local area including checkpost. 4. Self declaration and self assessment of tax.
Due date for submission of all returns for the year 2010-11 under Rule 19 and Rule 19A of the Rajasthan Value Added Tax Rules 2006 has been extended by CCT Rajasthan upto 30-04-2012.
With effect from 1st April 2012, amends the Notification No. JC(HQ)1/ VAT/2005/97, dated 29th August 2005, as follows, namely :— In the Schedule appended to the said notification at Serial No. 1, in column (3), for the words four percent the words five percent shall be substituted.

All the dealers are requested to use latest templates for uploading their Returns. (Version1.2.5 for MVAT Returns and Version 1.2.6 for CST Returns.) Ø There is no change in the due dates, for filing the Returns for the period ending on 31.3.2012, in case of dealers liable to file e-704. The dealers liable to file e-704 are requested to upload the Returns as per the due date.
The Department of Sales Tax, Maharashtra State has introduced the new version 1.2.5 of MVAT Returns Forms and new version 1.2.6 of CST Return Form and the same are required to be used for submission of March 2012 returns and onwards.
Reduction in set-off available in case of branch transfers effected outside the State has been increased from 2% to 4% w.e.f. 1 April 2012. Now effecting stock transfers from the State of Maharashtra to depots outside the State would entail higher cost.
60. Sale of edible oil and oil cake manufactured and sold by the Tel Ghani Units registered under the Khadi and Village Industries Commission Act, 1956 or as the case may be with the Khadi and Village Industries Board constituted under the Bombay Khadi and Village Industries Act, 1960 for a turnover not exceeding rupees twenty lakh in a financial year.
These rules may be called the Maharashtra Value Added Tax (Second Amendment) Rules, 2012. 2. In rule 53 of the Maharashtra Value Added Tax Rules,2005, in sub-rule (3), (1) in clause (a), for the words, brackets and figures the amount calculated at the rate notified from time to time, by the Central Government for the purposes of sub-section (1) of section 8 of the Central Sales Tax Act, 1956 the words four per cent shall be substituted with effect from the 1st April 2012;
