Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC) has issued a directive dated 28th March 2025, stating that all field formations of the Central Goods and Services Tax (CGST) will remain open and operational on 29th, 30th, and 31st March 2025. These dates, falling at the end of the financial year, will be treated as regular working days to facilitate seamless operations and timely compliance by taxpayers.

The notification instructs all Principal Chief Commissioners and Chief Commissioners of CGST to inform officers and staff under their jurisdiction about this directive for compliance. Issued with the approval of the Competent Authority, the directive underscores the government’s commitment to ensuring smooth functioning of GST operations during critical periods like the financial year-end. The directive also includes contact details of the issuing authority for any further clarifications, ensuring effective communication across CGST field formations.

The undersigned is directed to inform that all field formations of Central Goods and Services Tax (CGST) shall remain open on 29.03.2025, 30.03.2025 and 31.03.2025 and the same will be treated as working days.

2. You are requested to bring the above to the notice of all officers and staff working under your jurisdiction for compliance.
