The Securities and Exchange Board of India entered into a Memorandum of Understanding with the Department of Telecommunications on April 15, 2026, to strengthen efforts against cybercrime and financial fraud in the securities market. The agreement enables regular sharing of data and information between the two authorities. The Department of Telecommunications has developed a Digital Intelligence Platform (DIP), a secure system designed for real-time intelligence sharing and coordination among stakeholders to detect and prevent misuse of telecom resources. Through this collaboration, both agencies aim to take proactive action against fraudulent activities by leveraging telecom and financial data. The MoU marks enhanced cooperation and institutional synergy between SEBI and DoT in addressing emerging risks related to technology-enabled financial fraud. The arrangement comes into effect immediately from the date of signing.

Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Department of Telecommunications (DOT), Government of India on April 15, 2026. The MoU was signed by Shri Sanjeev Sharma, DDG (AI&DIU), DoT and Shri Sandip Pradhan, Whole Time Member, SEBI, in the presence of senior officers from both the organizations.

DoT has developed a Digital Intelligence Platform (DIP), which is a secure platform for real-time intelligence sharing and coordination among various stakeholders, to combat cybercrime and financial frauds by enabling proactive action against the misuse of telecom resources.

The MoU will facilitate the sharing of data and information between DoT and SEBI, on regular basis, for the purpose of fighting frauds in securities market. This marks the beginning of enhanced cooperation and synergy between SEBI and DoT.

The MoU comes into force from today.
