The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) is progressing towards complete digitization of its internal regulatory approval workflows to improve efficiency, transparency, and service delivery timelines. The PRAVAAH (Platform for Regulatory Application, Validation And AutHorisation) portal, launched on May 28, 2024, has facilitated over 3000 application submissions, offering online submission and status tracking via SMS and email. Currently, 108 forms are available on the portal, with more to be added as needed. The portal allows applicants to submit clarifications and receive decisions from the RBI in a timely manner. Effective May 1, 2025, the RBI advises all applicants, including Regulated Entities (REs), to use PRAVAAH for submitting applications for regulatory authorizations, licenses, and approvals using the available forms or a general-purpose form if a specific one is absent. While the public can still submit applications directly in exceptional cases, these will also be processed through PRAVAAH. User manuals, FAQs, and videos are available on the portal (https://pravaah.rbi.org.in) for user convenience.

The Reserve Bank is committed to achieving end-to-end digitization of all internal workflows involved in regulatory approval processes to enhance efficiency, transparency, and timeliness in service delivery. To this end, the Reserve Bank had launched PRAVAAH (Platform for Regulatory Application, Validation And AutHorisation) portal on May 28, 2024 to streamline online applications for regulatory authorisations, licenses, and approvals ensuring seamless, secure and faster delivery of services in a transparent manner.

2. Adoption of PRAVAAH has seen steady progress and has so far facilitated submission of more than 3000 applications/requests. The portal enables the submission of applications digitally and enables the applicant to monitor the status of the application through the portal itself via SMS and email. So far, 108 forms are available (Annex) for use in the portal and further, more forms will get added on the portal as the need arises. It has a facility through which the applicant can submit additional information, or clarifications sought by the Reserve Bank. The Reserve Bank will communicate its decision through PRAVAAH in a time bound manner.

3. With effect from May 01, 2025, all applicants, including Regulated Entities (REs) are advised to use PRAVAAH for submitting applications for regulatory authorisations, licenses, and approvals to the Reserve Bank using the application forms already available in the portal. Applications for which a specific form is not available can be submitted using the general-purpose form.

4. In exceptional cases, where members of the public are unable to submit their applications through PRAVAAH system, they may submit their applications directly to the Reserve Bank as hitherto. However, such applications also will be processed through the PRAVAAH system by the Reserve Bank and the applicants will be duly notified of the same.

5. For convenience of users, a user manual, FAQ and videos are available on the portal itself. PRAVAAH portal can be accessed at https://pravaah.rbi.org.in.
