As you aware that after filing of Income Tax Return, the assesse has to complete the verification process within 120 days from the date of filing Income tax Return. There are total 2 ways to verify it i.e either electronically or manually.

The verification through electronic way can be done as follow:

The verification through manual way can be done by submitting the signed copy of ITR V acknowledgement to CPC Bengaluru through regular, speed or registered post.

Now if the assesse failed to verify the return within 120 days from date of filing of return, then in such case he can provide the reason for delay in submission of ITR-V or e-Verification. In addition, you will be given an option to e-verify the return after 120 days by giving reasons for delay.

    Hi all,
I have made an error in my income tax computation filed for ay 19 20. Original Return was filed within due date. Now the due date to revise my return for ay 19 20 is also lapsed. Can i use provision of sec 119(2)b condonation of delay to corrct my return?
Note – Original return had assessd liability whereas my revised working shows a refund.

    1. Rishi Ranjan says:

Yes, u may use the provisions of 119(2)(b) condonation of delay for rectifying ur mistakes in return. But, this would be possible only if your assessing officer passes the order after being satisfied by ur reason for making delay in revising your ITR for rectifiying the mistakes within due date.

Service Request, on click of condonation request it gives error message which says ‘No record found’.

  5. Arvind Kumar Aggarwal says:

first put an application in writing to your AO quoting the genuine reason for not filing the return along with computation of income. This is to be done in person not online. Then the AO may issue a notice/order to you accepting your application. That notice/order will appear on the service request option on the portal. which otherwise is showing no records found. Once the notice/order appear on the option you can file your return. Please understand that service request option do not allow you to file an application for condonation it gives the notice/order that has to be uploaded when you file your return with option – u/s 119(2)(b). Any body who has another experience please enlighten all by replying to this comment

  6. Arvind Kumar Aggarwal says:

no records found means you have not put a request to your assessing officer (AO). first you have to put this request quoting reasons (genuine) of not filing the return, along with computation and then the AO will issue notice which will reflect as record which otherwise are showing no records found. I have noticed that it is not possible to file the application online. I hope this clarifies the matter
