If we require Uniform Civil Code, does this mean India does not have a civil law or India is not a civil society? India is perfectly a civil society. The Constitution of India, 1950 being the highest piece of law. Even parliament cannot change the basic structure of constitution of India. Later, Code of Civil Procedures, 1908, Criminal procedure Code, 1973 and Indian Penal Code, 1860 are the three important pieces to maintain the law and order.
The basic purpose of Indian Stamp Act, 1899 is to raise revenue for Government, and government would like to earn more money either by imposing a tax or by charging Duty and in that Duty includes the Stamp Duty, the matter is not relevant but the money is more important for government in the present scenario.

The intention of the Code is to do away with the antiquated existing laws covering aspects of insolvency and bankruptcy. Though the Code sets out certain provisions to amend and override the existing laws to avoid future litigation, a clear provision needs to be introduced to explicitly state the existing laws being repealed by the introduction of this legislation.

As notified vide order dated 29 March, 2016, the validity of the registration certificates of all associations whose registration certificates are expiring on or before 30th September, 2016 was extended upto 31st October, 2016. Time for applying for renewal of registration certificate of such applicants was also extended upto 30th June, 2016.
