The Department of Commerce, Government of India, issued Instruction No. 119 mandating all Development Commissioners of Special Economic Zones (SEZs) to submit a comprehensive monthly report by the 9th of each month. This report, in a prescribed format, aims to ensure proactive management and monitoring of all SEZs. The format requires details on SEZ performance (operational/non-operational zones and units, vacant land, exports), Unit Approval Committee meetings, proposals for new SEZs and units, meetings with developers and state authorities, efforts for non-operational units, outreach programs, pending approvals and court cases, special campaigns, vigilance steps, processing of BoA proposals, Jan Sunwai details, and pending issues with state government and the Department of Commerce.

Subject: Monthly Report from Development Commissioner of Special Economic Zones – reg.

Sir,

I am directed to refer to above mentioned subject and to state that in order to ensure proactive management and monitoring of all Special Economic Zones (SEZs), it has been decided that all Zones shall henceforth submit a duly filled Report annexed herewith, on monthly basis to this Department by the 9th of every month.

Format for Monthly Report by DCs

1. Name of zonal SEZ / SEZ:

x. Reasons for any surge or decline* in exports vis-à-vis last Month/ corresponding period in the previous year

* Surge/decline may be defined as more than 50% change (month-on-month) in exports in Rs. crores.
