Refund intimation u/s 143(1) received followed by another intimation Refund failed as pan name is not matching with account name. Refund reissue request changing to another bank was made, which was approved. So far refund is not credited to my account. In fact name in pan and account is matching and I have been receiving refunds for the last four or five years. Why now delay.

  15. Kamal says:

My refund amount is less than 50,000 Rs, but CPC has kept on issuing cheque through speed post to my old address, though i have updated my contact details and opted for credit to my bank account.

  16. Lupita says:

Hi Sameer, I am going through the same situation as yours. I have updated my contact details in their website. Now if I raise re-issue request, do you think it’ll pick from the website?

  17. Sameer Chauhan says:

Certain important facts should be known to all. Firstly, if the refund amount is less than Rs 50,000 and the Assessee has intimated bank acct details, only then direct credit is resorted to by CPC. If the refund amount is more than 50,000/-, even if the bank acct details are mentioned in the ITR, CPC will not credit the refund directly, but send it in form of cheque by SPEED POST. God forbid, if you have changes accommodation / address, you are in for a long haul. I suffered in this case. Inspite of giving the changed address a number of times, CPC (thru SBI) continued sending refund cheque by SPEED POST on old address. Further, the Dept of Post doesn’t update movement status of SPEED POST Article real time. Twice I was left ‘one step behind’. finally, I could track for one whole night and got hold of my old post office, sat through their SPEED POST sorting drill and rescued my cheque, thanks to few good men still left in Postal Dept. So be very careful, when refund is more than Rs 50,000. But, just want to know, why shouldn’t this too not be directly credited? Can CPC give a reasonable reply?
