To
Shri Arun Jaitly Ji,
Hon’ble Finance Minister
Government of India

Dear Sir,

The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India and its members arc partners in “Nation Building” and playing important role in growth of Indian Economy.

Tax audit under section -44AB of the Income-tax Act. 1961 is exclusively conducted by Chartered Accountants and before making any change in the format of tax audit report ICAI has always been consulted by the CBDT. This time also The Direct Tax Committee of ICAI was consulted and DTC gave, its suggestions regarding required changes, well in time hut the changes have been affected too late and one such change has been affected on 19.09.2018.

Besides it Turnover under GST and Income Tax is also to he reconciled which need some more time. Sir your good self might know that due date for filing personal and unaudited returns were extended from 31.07.2018 to 31.08.2018 and we professionals are already late by one month.

Sir in such a situation Chartered Accountants are facing problems in conducting error free Tax Audits and request your good self to extend due date for submission of Tax Audit Reports and Income Tax Returns from 30 September, 2018 to 31 October, 2018 in the case of corporate assesses and where tax audit is applicable so that quality of Tax Audits may not be compromised.

Thanking you Sir in anticipation.

Yours faithfully

The govt should/must have to extend the due date of tax audit upto 31st Oct 2018. Other wise all the general people along with entire professional will never take the matter as normal/correct. After several request of all the person over the India if govt will not extend the date and if penalty and late fess is imposed, it will not be correct decision for Govt.

  7. CA RAJENDRA BAHETY says:

There is lot of change in user interface and whole data cant be seen in a single screen and every sheet of ITR-6, ITR-7 AND ITR-3 form 3CD has to be seen by using sheet slider and this takes a lot of time in filling up the form properly, day by day government has been increasing no of information to be filled in by the Assessee or his Tax consultants or CA without extending time , how this can be possible, One has to burn midnight oil as much as one form takes more than eight hours with variety of data which hitherto were not sought in past. One has to gather infomation from clients, and records and fill in the form properly and at last verification is always there.
The govt should consider these practical aspects and more over there is no alternative window or receiving counter wherein the assessee can submit their genuine hardship.Or open up the physical receiving counter on the last of due dates in case assessee is unable to submit the return electronically in the e portal of Income tax.

  8. TARA SHANKER DEVASHISH says:

Govt wants transparency and reconciliation provisions. Income Tax Turnover and GST turnover should be matched. But why no reconciliation between due dates. The Due Date of GST Audit and Income Tax Audit should be same. Financial Year 17-18 is known for Amendment Year. There many reason to extend due date of Tax Audit to at least by one month such as delay in availability of tax audit forms, delay updation of 26AS, Unnecessary amendment in Tax Audit forms, GST, Income TAX, MCA server isssue blah blah.

Hon FM Sir all professionals and myself request you to extend due date Of Tax Audit for A.Y. 2018-19
From 30-09-2018 to 31-10-2018 to work properly without pressure

    Thank you

  12. Rati says:

Sir, As we are considered as partner of national building only for providing suggestions and recommendation and not for else. Every year CA asked for extension of Tax Audit as all CA depends on working of accountants and clients co-operation. This year is known as amendment years as so many amendments in GST and compliance has been made. Further the accountant and assesseee are not cooperative as they are busy in GST Return and other GST compliance.
Now I have a suggestion of all CA’s who are in practice or engaged in accounting profession that is if we all CA unites and teach the assessee and accountant that if they not provided audit data and records well in advance then we couldnot conduct audit and if they move to other CA for audit then he should also denied for the same or confirm the reason for non doing audit by previous auditor. In this way accountant and clients will be punished for delay in providing data and we didnot request for extension as we will have sufficient time for conducting the audit.
