PUBLIC NOTICE NO. 29 (RE-00)/1997-2002

NEW DELHI ,  the 1st September., 2000

In exercise of powers conferred under Paragraph 4.11 of the Export and Import Policy 1997-2002,  as notified in the Gazette of India extraordinary, Part-II-Section 3 – Sub- section (ii) vide S.O.No.283(E) dated 31.3.97, the Director General of Foreign Trade hereby makes the following amendment in Handbook (Vol.1). (RE-00), 1997-2002.

1. The following new paragraph shall be added after paragraph 4.37:-

Issuance of duplicate Green Card 4.38 In such cases where a Green Card is lost or misplaced , the issuing authority may consider requests for grant of a duplicate copy of Green Card , on the basis of an affidavit from the  Green Card holder.

2. The following new paragraph shall be added after paragraph 6.19:-

Re-fixation of average export obligation 6.20 Wherever average level of export obligation was fixed taking into account the exports made to former USSR or to such countries as are notified by the Directorate General of Foreign Trade under this paragraph, the average level of exports shall be reduced by excluding exports made to such countries.

3. The following amendments shall be made in the Appendix– 28A.

(ii) The value cap for DEPB entitlement as given in column (4)  for export product at Sl. No: 64 shall be amended to read as  Rs. 1850/- per Kg.

 (C)  Product Group: Electronics.

 (i)   The DEPB rate for the export product at Sl. No: 53 shall be corrected to read as 7% instead of 17%.

5. The contents of Appendix– 40 shall be amended to read as under:

        Agencies/Funds notified by the Government of India, Ministry of Finance, Dept. of Economic Affairs vide their Public  Notice No: 1(FT)/DEA/2000 dated 9th August, 2000  for the purpose of Deemed Export benefits :-

1. International Bank for Reconstruction and Development

(IBRD) and the International Development Association (IDA).

2. International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD).

3. Asian Development Bank (ADB).

4. Organisation of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) Fund.

5. Yen credit channelised through Japan Bank for International     Cooperation (JBIC). (Development component only).

Swedish International Development Agency (SIDA).

6. The application form for DTA Sale by EOU/EPZ units, as appearing as Annexure-A to the Appendix– 42, shall be amended as per the   Annexure to this Public Notice.

7. The following amendments shall be made in the Appendix– 51B:-
