The Government of India, through the Ministry of Commerce, issued Notification No. 14 (RE-98) 1997-2002 on June 18, 1999, introducing amendments to the Export and Import Policy, 1997-2002, as updated until March 31, 1999. The amendment, enacted under Section 5 of the Foreign Trade (Development and Regulation) Act, 1992, modifies paragraph 7.6 to expand the scope of supplies eligible under policy provisions. Specifically, the revised text includes supplies to mega power projects, as outlined in Public Notice No. 13 (RE-99)/1997-2002 dated the same day, alongside supplies to refineries for goods listed by the Department of Revenue. The amendment is intended to enhance clarity and broaden eligibility for supplies under specific policy frameworks. The notification is issued in the public interest by N.L. Lakhanpal, Director General of Foreign Trade, with communication managed by Ajay Sahai, Joint Director General of Foreign Trade.

NEW DELHI: the 18th June, 1999

In exercise of powers conferred by section 5 of the Foreign Trade (Development and Regulation) Act, 1992 (No. 22 of 1992) read with paragraph 1.3 of the Export and Import Policy, 1997-2002 (incorporating amendment made upto 31.3.99), the Central Government hereby makes following amendments in the Export and Import Policy, 1997-2002: (incorporating amendment made upto 31.3.99).

The word and expression “10.2(g) (in case of supplies to refineries for goods specified in the list notified by Department of Revenue) appearing in paragraph 7.6 shall be amended to read as “10.2(g) (in case of supplies to refineries for goods specified in the list notified by Department of Revenue and in case of supplies to mega power projects in terms of Public Notice No.13(RE-99)/97-02 dated 18.6.99)”

Similarly, the word and expression 10.2(g)(in case of supplies to refineries) appearing in paragraph 7.6 shall be amended to read as “10.2(g) (in case of supplies to refineries and in case of supplies to mega power projects in terms of Public Notice No. 13(RE-99)/97-02 dated 18.6.99)”

This issues in public interest.
