Life is not always smooth sailing. It is a series of ups and downs whether in studies, career or personal life. Every one wants fast growth, advancement in career with least problems or resistance. However, practically it is never so, some or the other problems arise in our life. At such times, if we are prepared to face the tough times, we emerge as a better version of ourselves, having confronted the challenges and finally arrived with victory.

Example: Mr A is unemployed due to recession and has a family, he has EMI to pay for Home loan. Besides some Life Insurance Policies and small FDs and Emergency funds, he does not have ample funds for sustenance. In such a scenario, it is quite natural that Mr A will be worried about his future cash flows and settlement of home loan liability and day to day expenditure. He is facing tough time in his life. The above is just an imaginary example, the fact is that in actual world we see many students, working professionals, businessmen, facing tough times in their work or personal front.

Motivation to Overcome Tough Times Finding Solutions

First of all, a person in tough time or phase should be calm as there is no point in panicking or taking stress as it will only aggravate the problem, as decision taken in haste will worsen the situation. The person should think in all possible directions to arrive at suitable solution, discuss with parents, elders and well wishers, mentors or boss as the case may be. If patience and positive mindset is followed, then there is a definite solution. Consider the problem as “bend in the road, not end of the road.” It is experience of many people that if we tend to think all the factors in a positive perspective, better results are definitely going to come.

Besides, we should consider the problems or tough times as a temporary phenomenon, not a permanent one, so because of this way of thinking we gain confidence that we will tide over the crisis. Many times it is seen that the problem that are arisen are due to lack of foresightedness about the uncertain future, so we tend to forget making provision for the difficult times. For this, advise of experienced people, parents and elders helps a lot so that we are well prepared in advance for the difficult days, if any, that may come.

It is also highly beneficial if a person develops a habit of reading self help and positive thinking books which inculcate qualities such as confidence, persistence, patience, goal oriented approach, positive attitude, discipline, out of the box thinking, saving habits and managing finances, time management, avoiding procrastination, gratitude, living in harmony with nature, physical and mental fitness etc. Future is uncertain, so it is important to be well prepared with the basic knowledge which is required to tackle problems of our life.

At the same time we should be spiritually strong and also take blessing of elders and parents, do some meditation because it relieves us of the stress that is developed at such times. Simultaneously, we should be working on the problems which we are facing so that we finally overcome the problems. If a student is failing continuously, he should find out his shortcomings, mistakes, whether he has done adequate writing practice to attempt full 100 marks paper, or he knows, but at the time of exams, he finds it difficult to recollect, or he is nervous while writing answers due to fear of failing. Whatever may be the problem, he should take initiative in taking corrective steps so that in the next attempt, he is fully prepared and attempts examination with full confidence and clears the Exams with good marks. The students should consider that if they prepare well, this phase will pass and they will make their parents proud by clearing the prestigious Exam.

On the personal level, some times there is no work life balance, so that the person faces with many problems because he has to devote 10-12 hours to work and consequently he has little time for personal life. Finally, its all about maintaining a balance how you manage work and family time. Many times, you have to delegate small tasks to juniors so that you can maintain healthy work life balance. If the work load in the department is more and personnel are less, then the Management should be immediately asked to arrange for extra staff, because that will not sustain in the long run and is detrimental for the mental well being and work life balance of all the staff.

To conclude, tough time phase which come in our life is many times a blessing in disguise, which teaches us many practical lessons example – we know how we should handle our work in future from the learnings of the past, it imbibes many good qualities in us like patience, mental toughness, being humble, working in an accurate manner, foresightedness, valuing our parents, family members etc.

We should always take help from well wishers and parents who are always there on whom we can rely.
