Food-stuffs, medicines, clothing and blankets received by any charitable organisation, registered with Ministry of Welfare and Ministry of Home Affairs under Foreign Contribution Regulation Act, as a gift from any philanthropic organisation or person abroad, for free distribution either by itself or other charitable organisations to the poor and needy without any distinction of caste, creed or colour.
Export allowed subject to the condition that exporter shall notify the National Authority, Chemical Weapons Convention, Cabinet Secretariat, Ministry of External Affairs ( D&ISA ), Department of Chemicals and Petrochemicals and the Directorate General of Foreign Trade of such exports in prescribed format ( Appendix 18 B, as reproduced in the Handbook of Procedures, 1997-2002 ) along with the End use Certificate within 30 days of the actual export.
In exercise of the powers conferred under Paragraph 4.11 of the Export & Import Policy,1997-2002,the Director General of Foreign Trade hereby makes the following amendments in Schedule 2 Appendix 1 Of the book titled “ITC(HS) Classification of Export and Import Items 1997-2002.
Attention is invited to Public Notice No. 7 (RE-98) 1997-2002 dated 24.04.1998 and Public Notice No. 44 (RE-98) 1997-2002 dated 28.09.1998 wherein one time extension up to 31.03.1999 in export obligation period for Quantity Based Advance Licenses was provided in respect of Advance Licenses under the Duty Exemption Scheme issued up to 31.03.1996, subject to the terms and conditions indicated therein.
The gold/silver/platinum shall be released to the exporter of jewellery by the nominated agencies/RBI authorised banks in multiples of 10 gms. or in Ten Tola Bars in respect of gold. However, silver shall be released to the exporters in multiples of 1 kg only. Any balance of gold/silver/platinum shall be available to the exporters along with his future entitlement. The gold/silver shall be released by the nominated agencies in terms of 0.995/0.999 fineness and platinum in terms of 0.9999 fineness.
Supplies made by foreign buyers or procured by the exporters on the advice of foreign buyers, of labels, price tags, hangers PVC boxes, Inlay cards, printed bags, stickers and trimming materials like buttons, belts, shoulder pads, buckles, Eyelets, Hooks and Eyes and Rivets to be attached to the goods against specific orders placed by foreign buyers on Indian exporters, may be imported without a licence.
Attention is invited to the Public Notice No. 26/97-2002, dated 14th July, 1997, wherein the conditions and procedures to be followed in respect of export of Sandalwood in the form of heartwood chips, mixed chips, flakes of the Sandalwood Classes mentioned in Annexure I to the said Public Notice, Sapwood chips/powder and Sandalwood dust obtained as waste after the manufacturing process have been specified.
Consequent upon deletion of DEPB rate for refills covered under S.No. 1 of product group plastic by Public Notice No. 61 dated 31.12.97 and re-introduction of separate DEPB rate for all kinds of parts components by Public Notice No. 6(RE-98) dated 15.4.98, the DEPB rate for refills in respect of export made between 1.1.98 to 14.4.98 shall be 13% of the FOB value.
Hotels, Travel agents, Tour operators, Tourist transport operators eligible for SIL in terms of paragraph 12.12(B) of the Policy shall file the application for SIL in Appendix –20G of the Handbook.
Supply of goods to such projects in the power sector made under the procedure of International Competitive Bidding or Oil and Gas sector, including refineries, made under International Competitive Bidding or Limited Global Tender, in respect of which the Ministry of Finance extends the benefit of deemed exports to domestic supplies.
