The audit of GST Taxpayers were to commence from 1st July 2019, in respect of those taxpayers who have filed their Annual Return in GSTR Form 9 / 9A. However, in the recent GST Council Meeting held on 21/06/2019, the last date of filing of the Annual Return has been extended by two months, i.e. upto 31st August 2019.

Auditor Certificate is mandatory only in case of return of deposits. Same is also mentioned In Instruction Kit given with e-Form DPT-3. So revision of time line for filing particulars of exempted deposit (receipt of money or loan which are not considered as deposit) is not justified.

Draft Guidelines for use of Geographical Indication (GI) Logo & Tagline

The Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade, in order to encourage the promotion and marketing of Indian products registered as Geographical Indications, launched a common GI Logo and Tagline. The GI Logo will act as a certifying mark that can be used to identify all Indian products registered as GIs, irrespective of the categories, which makes it convenient for the consumers to recognize authentic GI products, and thereby protect the interests of genuine GI producers

Lackadaisical attitude in effective redressal of taxpayer grievance- Criticised by CBDT

Inspite of all these efforts by the Board it is seen that the total number of pending grievances on CPGRAMS as on 20.06.20 19 is 2647 out of which 885 grievances are pending for more than 30 days. Likewise 34026 cases of e-Nivaran are still pending for resolution. These figures are a cause of serious concern and point to a lackadaisical attitude in the effective redressal of the grievance by the concerned authority.

Kind reference is invited to ITBA assessment instruction no 9 dated 07.05.2018 in which the process of uploading of manually passed order in ITBA system was described. Vide above instruction it was explained that for doing any work in system, the previous orders should have been passed in system.
