Income tax return through ‘e-filing Lite’- Faster/Lighter

Hello friends, greetings for the day in the current article we will discuss about the newly launched ‘e-filing lite’ for the sole purpose of hassle free return filing as quickly as possible

Introduction

As we know the last date for return filing of certain section of taxpayers has been extended from 31^st July to 31^st August. A lite facility has been launched by the Income tax department to facilitate easy, quick and hassle free return filing for all the taxpayers. The current version is a lighter version for faster tax filing, it will only have the essential things required for Return filing. Other regular tabs like e-proceeding, e-nivaran, compliance, work list and profile setting were taken off from the ‘lite version but retained in the standard version of e-filing facility

The “e-filing lite” has only 3 tabs:-

1. Dashboard
2. My account
3. E-file

This platform has been introduced only for tax filing purposes. It is being the lighter version during the peek time it will take less time and server down time would not be there.

In the above image there has been a new field called “Quick ITR Filing” this can be used to go for “E-filing lite” and there is another way to file the return through “E-filing lite” by clicking on the portal login button provided on the top right of the above image which is the home page of “Income Tax department”.
