It has been decided to allocate a quantity of 8500MTs (Eight Thousand Five Hundred MTs ) of Raw Sugar out of free sale portion of 2001-2002 (October 1, 2001 to Septpember, 2002) season’s production for export to USA as a Preferential Raw Cane Sugar Tariff Rate Quota for the fiscal year 2002 and place the same at the disposal of the Indian Sugar Exim Corporation Ltd.

The Government amends Export and Import Policy for companies with specific turnover to be recognized as Export House or Star Trading House.
A similar apprehension was also expressed by the Department of Revenue in the case of export of goods of foreign origin under the various export promotion schemes. As the objective of all export promotion scheme is to give duty benefits on the inputs required for manufacturing of goods, these schemes entail a condition of conversion of inputs into finished product in the country. In the line with this reasoning, the export of goods of foreign origin under these schemes will not be permitted , unless the goods have been manufactured or re-processed or on which any operation has been carried out in India.
The export deadline for coarse grain and maize under Public Notice No. 61 (RE-2001) is extended to March 31, 2002, by the Ministry of Commerce & Industry.
The date mentioned under heading “ Cases covered under Public Notice No.5 dated 6.4.1999” in the above referred Circular may be corrected to read as 31.3.2002 instead of 31.2.2002.
Public Notice No. 60 (RE-01)/1997-2002 details amendments to the DEPB rate list, including changes to product categorization and value caps.
Under this Public Notice one time extension was provided for fulfillment of export obligation. Such extension of time has already expired and B.G will be valid up to 31.2.2002. In all such cases BG had to be forfeited in the event of non-fulfillment of export obligation in the extended period. It is expected that in case of non completion of export obligation , action for enforcement of B.G must have been taken already.
In exercise of the powers conferred under Para 4.11 of the Export & Import Policy, 1997-2002, (incorporating amendments made upto 31st March, 2001) the Director General of Foreign Trade hereby makes the following amendments in the ITC(HS)Classification of Export and Import items (incorporating amendments made upto 31st August,1998) and as amended from time to time
