Public Notice No. 73 (RE-01)/1997-2002, dated 8th March 2002, issued by the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, announces the addition of new Agri Export Zones under the Export and Import Policy 1997-2002. These zones are established in various states to promote the export of specific agricultural products. The new zones include locations in Andhra Pradesh for mango pulp and fresh vegetables, Tripura for pineapple, Maharashtra for mangoes, Jammu & Kashmir for apples, Madhya Pradesh for potatoes, onions, and garlic, Punjab for various vegetables, and Uttar Pradesh for mangoes and potatoes. Each zone covers designated districts and blocks, with the aim to boost agricultural exports and facilitate better market access for the listed products. This amendment is part of the government’s effort to enhance agricultural trade and expand the reach of Indian produce in global markets.

In exercise of powers conferred under Paragraph 4.11 of the Export and Import Policy 1997-2002, as notified in the Gazette of India extraordinary, Part-II Section 3, Sub section (ii) vide S.O. No.283(E) dated 31.03.1997, the Director General of Foreign Trade hereby makes the following amendment in Handbook (Vol 1).(RE-01), 1997-2002.
1) The following are notified as Agri Export Zones and added in the table at Appendix 59 pertaining to “Agri Export Zone”. These zones shall cover the districts, blocks., mandals specified in the table below.
