While these initiatives have greatly helped Trade, one of the areas where physical interface has continued in Imports is the Bill of Entry amendment process. The amendments are filed only in the Service Centre along with paper copy of the checklist for approval by the proper officer.
It is highlighted that till the lockdown is over, scanned copies of above mentioned documents along with letter of undertaking shall be submitted through their registered email id to boardingoffice-jnch@gov.in .After due verification of documents and that there is no alert against the Vessel, Port Clearance/ Advance Port Clearance Certificate duly signed by the competent authority will be uploaded on the sender email id with the attachment.
Assistance for products exported by air would be based or per kilogram basis instead of per ton. Annexure 3 to the Notification No. 17/312018-EP (Agri. IV) dated 27th February,2019 has been replaced indicating the differential rate of assistance on per kilogram basis for the products exported by air.
Review of Data of last one month has demonstrated that this facility has been used extensively by the Trade and, has been proved to be very successful measure in reducing human contact in the Customs process during this COVID crisis. The Import policy of metallic scrap and waste requires importers to furnish Pre- shipment Inspection Certificate (PSIC) for customs clearance of metal scrap and waste imports in accordance with the conditions laid out in Para 2.54 of Handbook of Procedures, 2015-2020. It has come to the notice of DGFT that importers have been finding it difficult to submit the original copy of PSIC document due to the prevailing situations during COVID- 19 related lock down.
