From AY 2016-17, Income Tax Department have started issuing certificate of appreciation for eligible taxpayers who have cleared their entire liability, have no outstanding tax liabilities and had filed their returns electronically in the prescribed time.

Steps to view the certificate of appreciation

Step 1 Logon to ‘e-Filing’ Portal www.incometaxindiaefiling.gov.in
Step 2 Go to the ‘My Account’ menu located at upper-left side of the page and click on ‘Certificate of Appreciation’

Steps to put request for resending the certificate of appreciation

Step 1 Logon to ‘e-Filing’ Portal www.incometaxindiaefiling.gov.in
Step 2 Go to the ‘My Account’ menu located at upper-left side of the page and click on ‘Service Request’. Then select the ‘Request Type’ as ‘New Request’ and Select the ‘Request Category’ as ‘Certificate of Appreciation’ and click ‘Submit’
Step 3 Select Assessment Year from the dropdown list and click on submit

    Is this certificate of Appreciation is applicable for current year also, and how we can get this for 2020-21 and 2021-22.
