REPRESENTATION

Ms. Nirmala Sitharaman,
Honorable Union Finance Minister,
Government of India,

Sub : Extension of due date for filing Tax Audit Reports and related Returns for AY 2021-22 under IT Act. 1961

Respected Madam,

We, being an Apex Body of Accounts Professionals from all over Punjab, once again through this Representation draw your kind attention towards the fact that having received various complaints from our members facing various glitches, errors and other issues causing substantial delays in uploading TARs and submitting related Income-tax Returns on the income-tax portal. As is well known, we, being the basebone of nation’s economy, we act as a bridge between taxpayers and the Government in order to increase revenues all the way.

Request to extended Tax Audit & Related Return due dates for AY 2021-22

It is a fact that during the past Utilities for filing ITR-5 and ITR-6 and various Income tax Forms, like; 3CA/CB-3CD have been updated by the software company too late and the latest Schema for Tax Audit Report was rectified/clarified on o6th January, 2022. Consequently, most of the Professionals are uploading revised data, which takes a lot of time to rectify. No doubt, the portal is working smoothly, even though, the Professionals are taking time to take note of important data of their clients.

Further, it is pertinent to mention over here that due Third Wave of Corona (Omicron) most of the States have imposed weekend curfew. The Government has also restricted normal entry in staff in the offices. It is a fact that due to haphazardness among the society, all citizens are not fully vaccinated, as such they are unable to approach frequently to their Auditors in their offices.

Whereas the Companies have already deposited Advance-tax, and they have only to upload their Reports. In case some time to upload Tax Audit Reports is given to the Professionals, no loss of revenue will cause to the Government. Moreover, the ROC has already extended due date for submitting various forms by the Companies to 28th February, 2022.

Therefore, it is our earnest request to please be kind enough and extend due date for uploading Tax Audit Reports further from 15th January, 2022 to 28th February, 2022 and related Income-tax Returns for AY 2021-22 to 31st March, 2022 under Section 139(1) of Income Tax Act respectively. We, the Professional Accountants, shall be highly obliged.
