Public Notice No. 70 (RE-01)/1997-2002, issued by the Ministry of Commerce & Industry on February 8, 2002, defers the monitoring of Net Foreign Exchange (NFE) performance for units operating under the EOU, EPZ, EHTP, STP, and SEZ schemes for the financial year 2001-2002. The decision treats the period from April 1, 2001, to March 31, 2002, as a “blank year,” effectively pausing NFE evaluation for these units during this timeframe. This notification, issued under the Export and Import Policy 1997-2002, aligns with the provisions specified in Paragraph 4.11 of the policy and was published in the Gazette of India. The announcement was made by the Director General of Foreign Trade and is aimed at addressing operational considerations for the relevant units.
