The Ministry of Corporate Affairs (MCA), through Notification S.O. 707(E) dated 10 February 2026, has amended its earlier notification S.O. 2938(E) dated 6 September 2017 under Section 458 of the Companies Act, 2013. The amendment revises the list of Regional Directors authorized under the said notification by substituting the earlier locations—Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai, New Delhi, Ahmedabad, Hyderabad, and Shillong—with a revised and expanded list comprising Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Chandigarh, Chennai, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Mumbai, Navi Mumbai, and New Delhi. The notification clarifies that actions taken or omitted before the amendment shall remain unaffected. The revised notification will come into force from 16 February 2026. The change effectively restructures and expands the jurisdictional or administrative framework of Regional Directors under the MCA to reflect updated regional offices and administrative arrangements.

S.O. 707(E).— In exercise of the powers conferred by section 458 of the Companies Act, 2013 (18 of 2013), the Central Government hereby makes the following amendment in the notification of the Government of India, in the Ministry of Corporate Affairs number S.O. 2938 (E) dated 6th September, 2017, published in the Gazette of India, Extraordinary, Part II, Section 3, Sub-section (ii), dated the 6th September, 2017, except as respects things done or omitted to be done before such amendment, namely:-
In the said notification, for the words “Regional Directors at Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai, New Delhi, Ahmedabad, Hyderabad and Shillong”, the words “Regional Directors at Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Chandigarh, Chennai, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Mumbai, Navi Mumbai and New Delhi” shall be substituted.
2. This notification shall come into force with effect from 16th day of February, 2026.
