Govt has decided to issue Sovereign Gold Bonds 2017-18 – Series-III. Applications for the bond will be accepted from October 09, 2017 to December 27, 2017. The Bonds will be issued on the succeeding Monday after each subscription period.
G.S.R.—- (E) –– In exercise of the powers conferred by clause (iii) of section 3 of the Government Securities Act, 2006 (38 of 2006), the Central Government hereby makes the following Scheme, namely: 1. Short title and commencement.- (i) This scheme may be called the Sovereign Gold Bond Scheme., (ii) There will be a distinct Series for every week which will be indicated on the Bond issued to the investor., (ii) It shall come into force on the date of its publication in the Official Gazette.
This has reference to the GoI notification F.No.4(25)-B/(W&M)/2017 and RBI circular IDMD.CDD.No.929/14.04.050/2017-18 dated October 06 2017 on the Sovereign Gold Bonds,. Government of India has vide its Notification F.No. 4(25)-B/(W&M)/2017 dated October 06, 2017 announced that the Sovereign Gold Bond Scheme. Under the scheme SGBs (The Bonds) will be issued in a series of weekly issuances which will be open for subscription from Monday to Wednesday of every week starting from October 09, 2017.

The limits for investment by FPIs for the quarter October-December 2017 is increased by INR 80 billion in Central Government Securities and INR 62 billion in State Development Loans. The revised limits are allocated as per the modified framework prescribed in the RBI/2017-18/12 A.P.(Dir Series) Circular No.1 dated July 3, 2017, and given as under.
Considering the suggestions and queries received from SEBI, banks and other stakeholders, Reserve Bank of India has decided to make certain amendments to Master Direction – Reserve Bank of India (Financial Services provided by Banks) Direction No.DBR.FSD.No.101/24.01.041/2015-16 dated May 26, 2016. In pursuance of these changes, Para 5(a)(v) of the Master Direction on Financial Services provided by Banks is amended to read as under
