Maruti Suzuki India Limited has announced a significant increase in its sales figures for September 2026, with a total of 236,013 units sold. This marks a notable rise from the 189,665 units sold in the same month last year. The company’s domestic sales, which include passenger vehicles and light commercial vehicles, reached 185,252 units, while sales to other original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) accounted for 6,542 units. Additionally, Maruti Suzuki exported 44,219 units during the month.
The passenger car segment, which includes popular models such as the Alto, Baleno, and Swift, saw sales of 91,887 units, up from 74,090 units in September 2025. The utility vehicle segment, featuring models like the Brezza and Grand Vitara, experienced a significant surge, with sales rising to 78,911 units from 48,695 units in the previous year. The van segment, represented by the Eeco model, also showed growth with sales of 11,040 units compared to 10,035 units last year.
In the light commercial vehicle category, the Super Carry model saw sales of 3,414 units, an increase from 2,891 units in September 2025. Overall, the total domestic sales, including light commercial vehicles and sales to other OEMs, amounted to 191,794 units, up from 147,461 units in the same period last year. Export sales also demonstrated a positive trend, with 44,219 units sold compared to 42,204 units in September 2025.
The robust sales performance of Maruti Suzuki in September 2026 reflects the company’s strong market presence and the growing demand for its vehicles across various segments. Analysts suggest that the increase in sales can be attributed to the company’s diverse product portfolio and its ability to cater to different customer preferences. The positive sales figures also indicate a healthy demand in both domestic and international markets, positioning Maruti Suzuki favourably for the remainder of the fiscal year.
