Preetha has advised and represented several leading corporate houses, PSUs and Fortune 500 companies on indirect tax issues and her experience of over 9 years includes-
- Drafting responses to Show Cause Notices, Appeals to Tribunals and High Courts & Supreme Court, Writ Petitions, SLP to Supreme Court on issues relating to Sales Tax, VAT, Central Excise, CENVAT, Service Tax, GST, and Customs.
- Representing clients in various fora including the High Court of Karnataka, CESTAT, KAT and quasi-judicial authorities.
- Providing legal opinions under state and central indirect taxation laws and under GST, relating to taxability, exemptions, credit eligibility etc. and undertaking classification of goods under HSN.
- Advising clients on transition to GST and on the implications of GST laws on their business operations.
Preetha also has experience in advising clients on the implementation of VAT in the GCC States including the UAE, KSA and Bahrain. Previously, she was associated with Lakshmikumaran & Sridharan Attorneys for 6 years.
