Sona BLW Precision Forgings Ltd. (Sona Comstar), a prominent player in the mobility technology sector, announced its financial results for the second quarter of the fiscal year 2027, ending on 30th September 2026. The company reported its highest-ever quarterly revenue, EBITDA, and profit after tax (PAT), alongside a significant increase in revenue from battery electric vehicles (BEVs).

In Q2 FY27, Sona Comstar achieved a revenue of Rs. 1,547 crores, marking a 35% increase compared to the same period last year. The company’s EBITDA rose by 23% year-on-year to Rs. 356 crores, maintaining a margin of 23.0%. PAT also saw a substantial rise of 29% year-on-year, reaching Rs. 223 crores with a net profit margin of 14.4%. Notably, the revenue contribution from BEVs surged by 129% year-on-year, accounting for 51% of the total automotive revenues, a record high for the company.

The company also secured new orders worth Rs. 36 billion during the quarter, bolstering its net order book to Rs. 251 billion, the second-highest level in its history. Among these orders were three BEV programs, an intelligent and connected solution program, and three internal combustion engine (ICE) programs. Sona Comstar’s success in expanding its order book was complemented by the commercialisation of three new products, including a helical limited slip differential for EVs, air springs for railway passenger coaches, and rear radar sensors for two-wheelers.

Vivek Vikram Singh, Managing Director and Group CEO of Sona Comstar, expressed satisfaction with the company’s performance, highlighting the record highs in revenue, EBITDA, and PAT. He also noted the company’s strong cash flow generation, which was one and a half times the free cash flow from operations compared to the entire previous fiscal year. This robust financial performance, coupled with new product developments and order wins, reinforces Sona Comstar’s confidence in its long-term growth strategy.

The company’s achievements were further underscored by the Driveline Division receiving the prestigious Deming Prize for Total Quality Management from the Union of Japanese Scientists and Engineers. This accolade recognises nine years of dedicated efforts to enhance quality and organisational discipline.

Analysts view Sona Comstar’s strong financial results and strategic advancements in the BEV sector as indicative of its growing influence in the global mobility technology market. The company’s continued focus on innovation and quality positions it well to capitalise on the increasing demand for electric vehicle components.
